Community Advocacy
Project S.T.O.R.Y. advocates for a welcoming, inclusive, just, and equitable Concord where young people from all communities can find belonging. Through our programming and events, we actively work to create a safe and welcoming environment for marginalized individuals:
-
Our annual CommUNITY Listening Session brings Concord communities together to foster learning and meaningful engagement.
-
We host a series of community educational events throughout the year on various topics of inclusion, anti-racism, and belonging.
-
We co-host advocacy videos with Importance Leadership.
-
We are a member of the One Concord Coalition.
-
Charm, our director, plays a crucial role as a liaison between the community and Project S.T.O.R.Y. youth, serving on the Concord School District DEI Committee, the Chamber of Commerce DEIJ subcommittee, and the United Way Community Impact Committee.

Our adult volunteers are available at all times to field any concerns or help deal with racial or hate targeted incidents. We equip Project STORY kids with healthy coping skills to address stress, anxiety and trauma. We liaison with the city and school district DEIJB committees and other resources to address and advocate around racial incidents and concerns.
